Outdoor Kitchen SW14 a beautiful cedar clad project
Outdoor kitchen East Sheen London SW14
In summer 2015 we were approached by Kate, a keen home baker based in East Sheen, London hoping to try her hand at wood-fired bakery with a small set up in the garden. We took a cue from the recently installed cedar clad music studio sitting adjacent to the proposed area and decided to use the same timber to clad the oven and prep area, including a low semi-circular seat that doubled as a cushion store.
The Outdoor kitchen East Sheen is an example of what can be achieved in a small London garden and still have space, galley style, to prep, cook and relax with delicious home-made food.

Having developed the plan, we set about the build later in the Autumn using a Four Grand-Mere 800 brick oven set in a corner and set on its own steel table and flanked by a long York stone topped prep and storage area. The use of the steel table made the timber cladding quicker and easier to achieve as building a masonry base would have been time consuming given the tight access we had via a common footpath round the back of the house.
The client now uses her oven regularly for baking and pizza nights and has become quite popular with her neighbours who now want part of the action!
