In early summer of 2019, we were contacted by a customer in Greece who wanted an oven for his house on the island of Paros about 120 miles from mainland Athens.
After many emails, Dimitris decided on our F950 wood-fired oven with brick interior and extra supplied insulation.
We had no idea what scheme he had come up with so it was with some surprise that in March 2020 he shared photos of his first wood fired cooking session. What a fantastic build he has put together, smooth cement render throughout, plenty of storage and of course our beautiful ‘Gourmet’ 950 brick oven.
The brick oven Paros- an unexpected build
This is a great example of the unexpected, with so many builds we see using the same ideas, it is refreshing to see someone trying a different approach. The food he is producing is outstanding considering its the first time he’s used a wood-fired oven- the crust looks perfect, the toppings simple but delicious and I’m sure the Aegean sunshine helps!

I attach you few photos from last Sunday bake (and few from last summer). Still, not the best photos, but I think there are descent. I baked 20 pizzas at around 450 C. The oven behaves really well. It is very well insulated, it retains a lot of heat and reaches high temperatures easily. Although I have no prior experience with wood ovens, I have to say I am very happy with its overall behavior.

What can you say, the quality of the food Dimitris has sent is just outstanding. Many people go for years unable to get that perfect crust and with the simple ingredients he has captured the essence of wood-fired cookery.
Brick oven Paros- A Note for International customers
As distributors based in England, we supply the UK including Eire with the complete range of Four Grand-Mere wood-fired and gas ovens but for international customers we usually refer them back to the head office in France for sales for the simple reason of not treading on the toes of existing distributors in other countries, with the possibility of undercutting prices.
When an overseas customer approaches us first, we check with head office the status of the country involved and whether we can proceed with the sale. In the case of Greece, they allowed us to deal with the sale and arrange the delivery directly from the factory to the customer.
We can take most currencies and deal with most sales so please check with us first before contacting Four Grand-Mere. We can arrange installation in most countries if the customer has the wherewithal to cover our travel and staying over costs.
